Aligarh, A programme was organized at Khanqah Niaziya, located in Sir Syed Nagar, Aligarh, to commemorate the sacred occasion of Isra and Mi’raj. Addressing the gathering, Pir-e-Tariqat Dr. Muhammad Abbas Niazi said that the event of Mi’raj is among the most significant and miraculous incidents in Islamic history, vividly described in the Holy Quran and Hadith.
He stated that this event took place at a crucial phase in the life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, during which he ﷺ was taken on a miraculous night journey from Masjid al-Haram to Masjid al-Aqsa and thereafter to the heavens within a short span of the night.
Dr. Abbas Niazi explained that the journey of Mi’raj was filled with profound objectives, spiritual wisdom, lessons, and insights, which served as a remedy for the grief and hardships faced by the Prophet ﷺ. Through this divine experience, the clouds of sorrow and distress were lifted, restoring moments of joy and peace. The journey also paved the way for the strengthening of the mission of preaching and propagation, enhanced devotion and enthusiasm, and encouraged steadfast progress in seeking the pleasure of Allah. It further reinforced the Prophet’s ﷺ determination, courage, resilience, and steadfastness, while elevating his spiritual rank to unparalleled heights.
He further said that when the disbelievers and polytheists subjected the Prophet ﷺ to mockery and ridicule, Surah Al-Kawthar was revealed upon his pure heart, delivering a decisive response to the false ideologies of the enemies of Islam and manifesting the exalted status and greatness of the Prophet ﷺ. In an environment where the people of Makkah and the broader Arab society were deeply immersed in misguidance and moral corruption, the Prophet ﷺ single-handedly fulfilled the responsibility of the great divine mission and Prophethood within a short span of 23 years. Dr. Niazi noted that even the world-renowned ruler Bonaparte acknowledged that a message which could not be completed over centuries was remarkably accomplished by the Prophet ﷺ within just 23 years—an achievement unmatched in world history.
Highlighting the wisdom behind Mi’raj, Dr. Abbas Niazi said that after the proclamation of Prophethood, the disbelievers of Makkah subjected the Prophet ﷺ to extreme oppression. He and his family faced social boycott, causing immense anguish and hardship. Following this period, the Prophet ﷺ lost his uncle and his beloved wife, Hazrat Khadijah (RA). In such trying circumstances, Allah Almighty summoned His beloved Prophet ﷺ, alleviated his grief and sorrows, and granted him divine closeness. The purpose, he said, was that when one beholds the Divine Beloved, all pains and afflictions fade away. On the night of Mi’raj, Allah Almighty honored His beloved Prophet ﷺ by consoling him, giving glad tidings of forgiveness for the Ummah, and bestowing the precious gift of Salah.
Dr. Abbas Niazi also mentioned that several extraordinary incidents occurred on the night of Isra and Mi’raj, whose glad tidings were acknowledged not only by the Prophet ﷺ but also by Christian leaders. Referring to Tafsir Ibn Kathir, he narrated that a Christian cleric, who was a high priest of Masjid al-Aqsa, stated that it was his routine to lock all the doors of the mosque before sleeping every night. On that particular night, despite locking all doors, one door could not be closed. Even with the combined efforts of attendants and workers, the door remained immovable. Carpenters were called, who remarked that the upper structure had descended and that nothing could be done at night. The matter was deferred until morning. When the priest returned the next day, he found the door completely intact, with a hole in the stone and visible marks for tying animals. Upon witnessing this, he realized that the door had remained open solely for the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and concluded that the Prophet ﷺ had indeed offered prayers in Masjid al-Aqsa.
On this occasion, Ali Zaman Niazi, Ali Fakhri Niazi, Ali Hasnain Niazi, Sarwar Azeem Niazi, Haider Ali Niazi, Karim Niazi, Rouhan Niazi, Hafiz Furqan Niazi, Atif Niazi, Safdar Niazi, Jafer Niazi, along with a large number of devotees, were present.
