Agra cleric urges prayers, self-reflection, and solidarity with the suffering people of Gaza
Agra: Khateeb of Masjid Nahar Wali, Sikandra, Mohammad Iqbal, expressed deep concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza during his Friday sermon, saying that a brief Friday sermon delivered in Gaza has exposed the true face of humanity and shaken the conscience of people across the world.
Referring to the incident, Mohammad Iqbal said that an Imam in Gaza reportedly addressed the congregation by saying, “I am extremely hungry and do not have the strength to speak. You too are very hungry and do not have the strength to listen. Let us stand for prayer.” He described these words as a powerful reflection of helplessness, hunger, and human suffering.
He said the incident should serve as a wake-up call for the entire world, especially for the Muslim Ummah, and urged people to reflect on their responsibilities towards those enduring hardship.
Mohammad Iqbal also spoke about the severe humanitarian situation in Gaza, stating that thousands of civilians, including many children, have lost their lives, while many others have been injured or displaced. He said the continued suffering of innocent people calls for compassion, humanitarian concern, and sincere efforts toward peace.
The cleric appealed to people to pray for the people of Gaza, seek forgiveness from Almighty Allah, and sincerely remember those facing hardship. He encouraged individuals to engage in self-reflection and strengthen their sense of responsibility toward humanity.
Concluding his sermon, Mohammad Iqbal prayed for lasting peace across the world, particularly in Gaza, asking Almighty Allah to protect the innocent, ease their suffering, and bless them with peace, justice, and security.
