Agra: Maulana Mohammad Iqbal, Khateeb of Masjid Nahar Wali in Sikandra, said in his Friday sermon that every sincere and positive effort to convey the message of the Holy Qur’an to people across the world deserves appreciation and encouragement.
He said that Iran’s initiative of arranging the recitation of selected verses from the Holy Qur’an before delegations from various countries attending the funeral of its leader was a unique and noteworthy step. According to him, it demonstrated that the teachings of the Qur’an can be presented effectively on a global platform.
Maulana Mohammad Iqbal emphasized that any positive initiative should be evaluated above sectarian differences. If an effort helps spread the message of the Qur’an and its teachings to humanity, it should be welcomed and encouraged, regardless of differing schools of thought.
He further stated that, in the current global scenario, the Muslim world must face emerging challenges with unity, wisdom, and foresight. He stressed that rising above Shia-Sunni differences and focusing on the common interests and unity of the Ummah is the need of the hour, enabling the Muslim community to strengthen its dignity and standing on the international stage.
The Khateeb also observed that the global political and diplomatic landscape is changing rapidly. Therefore, Muslim countries should enhance mutual cooperation, solidarity, and prudent decision-making to better prepare for the future.
Concluding the sermon, Maulana Mohammad Iqbal prayed that Almighty Allah grants Muslim rulers wisdom, insight, and the ability to make decisions that serve the best interests of the Ummah. Ameen.
