Agra Senior student leader Amit Pratap Yadav, who has been at the forefront of struggles over student issues at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra, has been appointed President of the Samajwadi Party Students’ Wing (Agra Metropolitan) for the third consecutive term.
The appointment was announced on the directions of Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, and formally declared by Agra Metropolitan President Sabbir Abbas. Speaking on the occasion, Sabbir Abbas said that Amit Pratap Yadav’s reappointment would further strengthen the party’s student wing at the university and give new direction to the fight for students’ rights.
Expressing his gratitude, the newly appointed president Amit Pratap Yadav said that the trust shown in him for the third time by party chief Akhilesh Yadav is a matter of pride and responsibility. He stated that he has continuously fought for student issues from the streets to the university campus. During this period, seven cases were registered against him, he faced imprisonment, and actively participated in hunger strikes, sit-ins, and protest demonstrations.
He added that this appointment is the result of his long-standing struggle for students’ rights. Amit Pratap Yadav also expressed confidence that the Samajwadi Party will form the government in Uttar Pradesh in 2027, after which the voice of students will be raised with even greater strength.
