Agra ,In a powerful reflection of people-first policing, the Taj Security Police Station in Agra is setting new standards in tourist assistance and public engagement. Guided by the motto “Seva, Suraksha, Sanvedna” (Service, Security, Sensitivity), the unit has emerged as a model of compassionate and professional policing at one of the world’s most visited monuments.
Under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner of Police (Taj Security) Piyush Kant Rai, the force has cultivated a secure, welcoming, and visitor-friendly atmosphere at the Taj Mahal. Tourists—both domestic and international—have praised the courteous conduct, prompt assistance, and reassuring presence of the security personnel.Inspector-in-Charge Tilak Ram Bhati has ensured that officers are specially trained to interact politely with visitors, offer accurate information, and remain vigilant without being intrusive. From helping elderly visitors and guiding school groups to assisting foreign tourists with directions and safety advisories, the team’s approach blends professionalism with empathy.
Thousands of tourists visit the Taj Mahal every day, including senior citizen delegations, women’s groups, and students. The Taj Security Police not only ensures their safety but also actively informs them about important safety campaigns such as “Operation Tourist Delight” and “Mission Shakti,” aimed at enhancing tourist confidence—especially among women travelers.
Visitors have described the environment as “family-like” and “deeply reassuring.” Many foreign tourists have expressed that such hospitality-backed policing strengthens India’s global image as a safe and welcoming destination. Several have suggested that this model should be replicated across major tourist hubs nationwide.
On Saturday, visitors from Germany, Myanmar, France, and Indian states including Maharashtra, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Delhi, Gujarat, and Bihar were warmly received and provided a smooth, secure, and pleasant visit experience.
