Lucknow, A (tribute) meeting and floral offering ceremony was organized today at the Samajwadi Party office in Lucknow on the second death anniversary of late Aziz Qureshi (former Governor). The program was held in the presence of Akhilesh Yadav, where senior leaders, office bearers, and party workers paid heartfelt tributes by offering flowers to his portrait.
On this occasion, the political successor of late Aziz Qureshi and Samajwadi Party National Secretary Sufiyan Qureshi was prominently present.
Addressing the gathering, Akhilesh Yadav recalled the invaluable contributions of Aziz Qureshi and said that it was largely due to his efforts that the Act of Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar University could be approved, which otherwise would have been nearly impossible. He added that Aziz Qureshi had to face personal and political losses for this cause, yet he remained committed to strengthening the secular fabric of the country and promoting inclusive politics.
Akhilesh Yadav further stated that Sufiyan Qureshi stands firmly with the Samajwadi Party today, and together they will defeat the anti-people policies of the BJP in the upcoming 2027 Assembly elections and give a strong democratic response to divisive forces.
Leaders and workers present in the meeting also remembered the public life, struggles, and commitment of Aziz Qureshi towards democratic values, paying him rich tributes.
Prominent attendees included Moolchand Chauhan, Akhilesh Katihar, Waki Siddiqui, Anwar Qadir, Mohammad Arshad (Dadda), Waqas Warsi, and several other senior leaders.
