Theme: “Innovation and Progress in Unani Medicine”
Agra. Unani Day was observed in the district on the birth anniversary of the great Unani physician, eminent researcher, distinguished medical practitioner, and freedom fighter, Hakim Ajmal Khan. The occasion was marked with tributes to his remarkable contributions and a renewed commitment to the promotion and advancement of the Unani system of medicine.
Speakers highlighted that Hakim Ajmal Khan laid a strong foundation for the growth and recognition of Unani medicine in India. His dedicated efforts not only strengthened this traditional system of healing but also promoted education and research in the field. The initiatives taken by the Hon’ble Prime Minister and the Hon’ble Chief Minister for the upliftment and expansion of Unani medicine were also appreciated during the program.
The theme for this year, “Innovation and Progress in Unani Medicine,” emphasizes how the Unani system, while firmly rooted in its rich classical traditions, continues to evolve to address modern healthcare challenges. The speakers stressed the importance of strengthening scientific validation, promoting research, and encouraging innovation in Unani healthcare services. On this occasion, several important research publications were released by leading institutions, contributing significantly to knowledge expansion and the development of Unani medicine.
The program was organized under the guidance of District Ayurvedic and Unani Officer, Agra, Dr. M. S. Alam. Among those present were Dr. B. B. Yadav, Dr. S. K. Singh, Dr. Vimal Kumar, Dr. Ariz Sherwani, Dr. Vinod, Dr. Kusum Bala, DPM Ayush Mrs. Soumya Sharma, Mr. Rahul, Mr. Ejaz, and other staff members.
The event concluded with a collective resolve to further strengthen and promote the Unani system of medicine in line with contemporary healthcare needs.
