Agra ,As temperatures continue to drop sharply and winter nights grow increasingly harsh, the Uttar Pradesh Muslim Mahapanchayat has once again emerged as a ray of hope for the poor, homeless, and destitute. For the 12th consecutive year, the organisation has launched its annual free blanket distribution drive, offering much-needed relief to those struggling to survive the biting cold.
At a time when vulnerable sections of society are grappling with inadequate shelter and lack of resources to protect themselves from extreme weather, the Mahapanchayat has stepped forward, setting a strong example of humanity and social responsibility. Volunteers of the organisation visited various parts of the city and distributed blankets free of cost to people living under open skies, including the homeless, daily wage labourers, elderly individuals, and other needy citizens.
Hundreds of blankets were distributed during the drive, bringing visible relief and smiles to the faces of beneficiaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Nadeem Noor, State Sarpanch of the Uttar Pradesh Muslim Mahapanchayat, said that winter poses the greatest hardship for those who neither have permanent shelter nor sufficient means to protect themselves from the cold.
“Helping the needy in such conditions is not charity but a moral and humanitarian duty. Our objective is to ensure that no one loses their life due to cold. This campaign will continue throughout the winter season,” he said.
Many beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the volunteers, stating that the blankets were nothing less than lifesaving support in the freezing nights. Several elderly persons and labourers shared that sleeping at night had become extremely difficult due to the cold, but the blankets had brought them much-needed comfort and relief.
Amjad Qureshi appealed to the general public to come forward and support such humanitarian initiatives so that no individual suffers or loses life due to extreme cold.
Echoing similar sentiments, M.A. Kazmi said that it is the responsibility of capable members of society to stand with the weak and helpless sections, especially during challenging times.
Overall, the initiative by the Uttar Pradesh Muslim Mahapanchayat stands as a commendable example of brotherhood, compassion, and humanity, reinforcing the message that those battling the cold are not alone.
The programme witnessed the presence of Nadeem Noor, M.A. Kazmi, Amjad Qureshi, Bundan Miyan, Anwar Pehlwan, Yasin Siddiqui, Nadeem Thekedar, Imran Hashmi, Moin Qureshi, Adil Qazi, Asif Aghai, Parvez Khan, Qasim Qureshi, among others.
