Agra: Zeeshan Club emerged victorious in the Citizen Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament, defeating Mohsin Eleven by 59 runs in a thrilling final held at St. John’s College Ground on Sunday.
The second day of the two-day tournament featured the semifinals and the final. In the first semifinal, Mohsin Eleven beat Abdul Rahman Eleven by 23 runs. Batting first after winning the toss, Mohsin Eleven scored 108 runs in 8 overs, with Raja Boni scoring a blazing 57 runs and earning the Man of the Match award. Abdul Rahman Eleven managed only 85 runs in response.
In the second semifinal, Zeeshan Club defeated Bunty Eleven to secure a spot in the final. Batting first, Zeeshan Club posted 88 runs for 5 wickets in 8 overs. Bunty Eleven could score only 60 runs in reply. Rahul Solanki contributed 25 runs and took one wicket, earning Man of the Match honors.
In the final, Zeeshan Club scored 95 runs for 8 wickets in 10 overs, while Mohsin Club was bowled out for just 36 runs. Rahul Solanki’s brilliant bowling, taking 5 wickets, earned him both the Man of the Match award and the Player of the Tournament title.
Rajya Sabha MP Ramjilal Suman presented the prizes. The winning team received a gleaming trophy and a cash prize of ₹51,000, while the runners-up were awarded ₹31,000. Nazia Khan, recipient of the National Bravery Award by the Prime Minister, was also specially honored.
The matches were officiated by umpires Atul Solanki and Matiuddin, with commentary by Naveen Goswami and Deshpande.
